Oasis Academy is a 10 FE 11-16 secondary school for 1,500 students and replaces South Chadderton and Kaskenmoor Schools. Oasis has developed a building that has the flexibility to meet future changes in learning needs. The building form itself maximises the opportunities on the site, creating a stunning public frontage which reacts in concert with the public routes and arrival space, allowing views deep into the building placing learning on show to the public. The mass and shape of the building also creates maximum opportunity to create outdoor teaching and learning spaces in direct relationship with indoor spaces, the shape allows the sun to penetrate the outdoor spaces at various times of the day encouraging their use and making them a more pleasant places to be
