The Building regulations Part L is concerned with the conservation of fuel and power. It is split into approved documents L1A (New Dwellings) and L2A (New buildings other than dwellings).
SAP calculations are the method by which new dwellings prove compliance with Part L1A.
SBEM calculations are the method by which new buildings (other than dwellings) prove compliance with Part L2A.
Building control are required to see a ‘design stage’ calculation. Without the design stage SAP calculation, building control will not allow the project to start on site.
When the building is complete, building control are required to see an ‘as built’ SAP calculation and an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC), to enable Final Building Control Approval.
We engage with clients from RIBA stage 2 through to completion and work along side your existing design team to craft a compliant, cost effective solution that best fits your project aspirations.
